June is arguably the peak season for professional development at the global level of IABC. World Conference 2016 is the place for communicators to gather and learn from each other, industry experts and a handful of visionaries from outside of the profession. With six tracks running simultaneously throughout the conference, attendees found something relevant and inspiring from start to finish. Not to be outdone, SF IABC is also offering two inspiring professional development events of our own this month. Measure Your Communications is a pop-up event scheduled for June 21, featuring Susan Walker, author of the definitive book on the topic, Employee Engagement and Communication Research – Measurement, Strategy, Action.
A facilitated discussion on using social media in your business is on the agenda for the June 15 meeting of the Independent Communicators’ Roundtable (“Using Social Media in Your Business“). Whether you have expertise to share or questions to ask, we look forward to your participation in this illuminating discussion.
The end of June marks the end of the SF IABC board year. It’s been a productive year. I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to serve alongside an amazing team of volunteers who have made time in their busy professional and personal schedules to lead chapter communications, coordinate professional development and networking opportunities, responsibly manage chapter finances, and recruit new members.
I’m thrilled to report that the incoming chapter leadership team is even stronger, with many volunteers continuing and the addition of some new volunteers to the board.
