ICR: Community Building Using Digital Platforms
Mar 30 @ 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm

IABC ICR Image_03.30.2017

Internal digital platforms can be a powerful way to engage employees. The growth in tools such as Slack, Workplace by Facebook, Yammer and others promise to elevate the way organizations communicate and collaborate. However, unlocking the true value of digital transformation requires more than technology — it also requires building a strong community inside a company.

Join us at the next SF IABC Independent Communicators’ Roundtable (ICR) where Emery Lees, Sr. Consultant at ROI Communication, will lead us in a discussion about some of the popular enterprise social tools and current community building practices for communicators. Emery will also walk through practical steps consultants can use to help clients evaluate the right approach.

About our speaker: Emery Lees helps organizations use digital tools to build engaged employee communities. Previously, Emery led social strategy for a large engineering and infrastructure firm in SF, where she launched Yammer to over 50,000 employees. Currently, Emery works with ROI Communication, helping big companies in the areas of employee engagement, community building, and digital strategy.

Connecting communicators around the dinner table

As professional communicators, we all know that simple ideas can be the most powerful. Imagine the value of placing nine SF IABC members in an intimate private dining venue, serving them dinner, and launching a conversation on a fascinating communications topic.

Since 2003, SF IABC has offered a unique professional development and networking program called Networking 9. Featuring a handful of small-group, dinner-discussions each year, Networking 9 gives participants the opportunity to explore new ideas, share real-world challenges, and build deeper IABC relationships.

If you’re interested in participating in a Networking 9 event, please contact Jeff Leslie or Corey Connors, our program directors. Each participant pays for their own meal and the events typically run from 6 – 9 p.m.
