What you will be doing

In this highly strategic role, you will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive internal communications strategy designed to engage, inform and inspire our 300,000 associates. You will work closely with the CEO, CHRO and other senior leaders to connect associates with our company culture, purpose and strategy through creative communications and storytelling. This role is preferably based in Pleasanton, CA, Dallas, TX, Phoenix, AZ or Boise, ID.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive internal communications strategy that amplifies our company culture and helps associates feel connected to the company purpose and strategy.
  • Work directly with the CEO, CHRO and other members of the C-Suite on internal communications. Act as a trusted internal communications advisor to leaders at various levels, helping to develop communications programs that meet business objectives.
  • Leverage creative communications to inspire and activate associates at all levels of the organization around a customer-centric culture. Help drive a culture of recognition across our company, celebrating associates at every level in fun and innovative ways.
  • Assess current internal communications methods and help define and implement best practices. Build a proactive companywide internal communications cadence that is effective and aligned with the business.
  • Collaborate across Communications, Marketing and HR to ensure message consistency and integration of content across channels.

What we are searching for

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage communications to help drive company culture and inspire and empower associates. Experience developing strategic communications programs that increase associate engagement and build understanding of a company narrative.
  • Experience leading and developing a team of communications professionals.
  • Track record of advising leaders at various levels of an organization on complex communications priorities.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, including experience writing for leaders.
  • Ability to measure impact and reach of internal channels and content.
  • Experience with communicating large-scale internal initiatives.
  • Understanding of change management principles and the drivers of company culture.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to bring together different views, goals, and needs to find alignment and deliver value.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information 

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or writing-intensive field of study preferred
  • 12-15+ years of communications experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
