We’re seeking a Digital Business Coordinator to join the Director of Audio, Technology and Website Development in the production of 30+ audiobook titles annually, the updating and maintenance of NAB’s website content, and general systems support.

Position Overview

The role of the Digital Business Coordinator is to assist with the production and continued growth of NAB’s Audiobook Program, facilitate updates and provide quality assurance for NAB’s website content and contribute to building strategies for continuous technological and process improvements.

This position reports to the Director of Audio, Technology and Website Development. The Digital Business Coordinator attends weekly audio production check-ins as well as periodic meetings pertaining to potential audio content review, website updates and various other company-wide meetings. The position involves working across departments and building and maintaining relationships with partners, both internal and external.

This position is 40 hours a week and remote/hybrid-optional. Although we have a small office in Berkeley, CA, we are currently fully remote and candidates do not need to reside in the Bay Area; however, candidates should be US-based and ideally available during 9-5 PST. Annual salary is $55,105. Excellent benefits package: full health, vision, and dental plan; 401k; paid sabbatical; and flexible spending plan. Responsibilities

Audio Program

  • Review manuscripts for adaptability and make recommendations for developmental editing if needed
  • Gather prospective audiobook info and add to production spreadsheet
  • Work with Project Editors to track manuscript status
  • Coordinate supplemental PDF requests
  • Research potential narrators and coordinate auditions 
  • Set production schedule and facilitate communication between narrators, proofers and editors
  • Prepare audio project workspaces and various types of project documentation 
  • Maintain vendor and accounts information
  • Gather and submit product data and digital assets for internal and distributor databases
  • Assist with ongoing adaptability improvements with Acquisitions/Editorial departments
  • Build and distribute audiobook sell sheets
  • Assist in refining processes for consistent metadata creation, archival and clean up

Website

  • Handle customer support issues, escalating accordingly
  • Coordinate updates and provide backend support for digital assets and internal/external content management systems
  • Coordinate creation and maintenance of Product Categories, Author pages and various other website content in collaboration with relevant departments
  • Provide ongoing design, functionality and usability quality assurance review, and work with web developers to optimize functionality
  • Assist in research and implementation of SEO improvements

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Work or internship experience in digital book technology, audio production or other publishing experience a plus
  • High proficiency in web and desktop software user interfaces. Google Workspace and Microsoft Office experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative work environment
  • Excellent writing and research skills. Tech writing experience is a plus
  • Highly motivated and high level of initiative
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and utilize resources to execute tasks within a deadline oriented environment
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement initiatives and ability to solve problems creatively
  • Comfortable in a Mac-based work environment
  • Interest and experience in amplifying diverse voices
  • Experience with and/or affinity for the subject areas we publish
